RMIT School of Science is seeking an appointment at a Professorial Level for the position of Associate Dean (Mathematical Sciences).  The Associate Dean position will be 3-year fixed term contract but the appointment will also attracts an underlying substantive Level E Professor position which will be based at the Melbourne City Campus.
 This is a key appointment within the School of Science’s leadership team. The Associate Deans are critical members of the School leadership team, providing senior leadership for the each Discipline’s academic and research performance and growth. This leadership position is accountable for directing and managing the Mathematical Sciences  Discipline teams and working collaboratively to enable the School of Science and the STEM College to deliver on the next stage of transformation.

Workshop on Metric Bounds and Transversality (WoMBaT 2016)

The meeting will be held in Melbourne (RMIT City Campus, room 8.9.66) on 24–25 November.

The topics of the workshop include error bounds, metric (sub) regularity, Aubin property and calmness, transversality of collections of sets, subdifferential characterisations and applications of these properties to estimating the convergence of fundamental optimisation algorithms. Our keynote speaker is Professor Marco López Cerdá from the University of Alicante, Spain, who is visiting Australia in November.
